Plus, 50 different sound and white noise options are available via their easy-to-use app, so you can sleep soundly even if voices or a snoring partner keep you awake. Palusm is solely meant for relaxation and cannot play any music or personal audio sources.
You can listen to Bose Sleepbuds II comfortably, as they fit well. They don’t dislodge from your ears, and there is a one-time exception of an earbud being lost when it fell under the pillow.
There is no noise-canceling here and the Sleepbuds II have to be paired with your phone. After this, you can choose from 50 soothing sounds which will play on your headphones and help make you sleep better. They are even able to get around not having a smartphone by using Phone-Free mode.
We listened to some nature-oriented audio clips and found them too active, but we found “Swell,” a white noise like crashing waves loop that played for 1.5 hours each night, effective at masking external sounds and letting us get to sleep.

The Amazfit ZenBuds are runner-ups for the favorite headphones for sleeping. The Amazfit ZenBuds have many features like built-in sleep tracking. Other sleeping headphones such as the Bose Sleepbuds II are reliant on an Apple Watch.
The wireless earbuds are smaller than the Sleepbuds II, yet they didn’t fit into our ears well for nighttime security. And although they come with four different-sized soft eartips compared to Bose’s one, they are significantly smaller and don’t work as well. While using them we felt like they were too deep in our ears so masking the noise wasn’t very satisfying.
ZenBuds provides functionality that the Sleepbuds II does not, such as the sleep detection which ceases playback once you fall asleep. Sleep detection is also available, triggered by deep breathing or snoring, and there is an alarm capability as well.
The Zepp companion app is finicky and needs to have everything stabilized in order to work. However, when the apps are finally connected the full library of sounds offers more options than the Bose app. We used Beach and Waves for sleep, but it was too loud so we had to set it on a low volume unlike white noise which we use during the day for meditation. The sleep tracking feature was effective and tracked data as accurate as our Apple Watch that also recorded sleeping position.
The headphones guarantee 12 hours of playback on a single charge, and the charging case will provide you with up to an additional 56 hours of power.
4. Sony WH-1000XM5
Sony’s WH-1000XM5 over-ear headphones feel lighter than the Bose 700 even though they are the same weight. These cans are bigger in width, but this has no impact on how comfortable they are.
The padding on these headphones is just as fluffy as resting your head on a soft pillow and wider cuts provide more ventilation around the ears so moisture won’t build up during long listening sessions.
